It isn’t all that difficult to determine from the title what the story is in Dr. Seuss’s book, Wacky Wednesday. A young boy wakes up one Wednesday morning to find that his world has been turned upside down! As he struggles to go through his normal routine he is increasingly distracted by things that are grossly out of place. A palm tree grows out of a toilet and a mouse chases a cat. When he goes outside, things get even worse as the day progresses, with planes landing on roads, or people missing body parts. Finally, a policeman explains to the worried boy that all he must do is count the twenty wacky things that are left, and the day will be done.
